Holiday Fun in 2014

Wahoo I am almost caught up! This winter has been a blast and the Holidays this year was just too much fun with a spunky 2 year old and crazy 4 year old... I loved any Holiday as a kid growing up and now that I have my own kids, it is like 10 times better :)

November 2014

This month didn't start out too hot. Joey was up all night Halloween Night throwing up every 30 minutes. At first I thought he had too much candy from being Halloween and all. boy was I wrong, Brayden caught it later that night and then I caught it that morning, luckily Josh didn't catch it till that evening and took care of us that day...

BRAYDEN TURNS 4!!

My little baby boy turned 4 years old on November 18th. All I can say is wow, when did this happen! He is a skinny, picky little ball of energy. He is perfect the way he is and wouldn't change anything about him. It has been a tough road but has made us smile everyday since the day he was born. He has challenged me as a mother since he spent his first days in the NICU. He has a smile that can change the world and will change the world by his adorable quirky ways. He still loves his cars, being outside every chance he gets. His best friend is his little brother, they fight all the time and can not do anything with out one of them by the other's side. He is talking in sentences now and really loves baking with mom. He is really into super hero's and we re-decorated his room and he loves it! His favorite is Spider-Man..He really is into trains now as well and lets face it, he is all boy...We finally got him potty trained and bribed him with super hero toys to do it, I don't even feel guilty about it.

I took Brayden on a Birthday Mommy & Son date to see Disney On Ice, I was really nervous but he did really well as long as he was on my lap, he was over-stimulated but once in the arms of mommy he did great and really enjoyed it. I bought him cotton candy and popcorn and was in a little piece of heaven. For his Birthday he had ABA therapy with his teachers and they spoiled him with love and treats and little gifts. The day was all about him and he was soaking it up. When he got home we made cupcakes and a train cake.

A little after Braydens Birthday, My brother and his family was visiting from Florida in Cedar City and I haven't seen my new little nephew yet and was happy to see all my family again, Josh couldn't make it down because it was in the middle of the week.We had a big dinner all together and a little birthday party with his cousins. Joey was really good and warmed right up to his Uncle Jake and cousins. Brayden had a very very rough time. It was a new environment with a lot of noise and kids and it was just plain hard. At times I forget that Brayden is Autistic because he does so well but days like those just kind of slap me in the face.

Oh and randomly we got another dog! Josh saw a ad on KSL for a free good dog in the area. We went to check him out and fell in love with him and took him home. His name was Goldie (We hated it and changed it to Rowdy) He loved the kids and Kaylee! They instantly got along and now are inseparably... he needed more training on the basics but caught on. He is 4 years old and pure breed English Pointer.

THANKSGIVING

We had a wonderful relaxed Thanksgiving just the 4 of us this year and it was really nice. I made a little Thanksgiving Dinner. We played at the park, swung on the swings, played a little basketball. Love my little family and will be forever grateful for my boys. We got a real Christmas tree from Costco and the boys were really into getting all their decorations out and putting them on the tree.

We put up our Christmas Tree and the Boys were loving it, opening the decorations putting them on the bottom half of the tree..haha Stupid tree was all weird and leaned a lot and fell and broke some of my ornaments.

December

My dreams came true when Josh surprised me one morning with a early Christmas Gift. I finally got a really nice camera!! A Canon Rebel T5i. I was so surprised and cried like a baby when I opened it. I have had a passion for photography for as long as I can remember just not a nice enough camera to really dive into it. Josh really went out of his way to get me something that I love. Now I can capture all those sweet little memories that I don't want to miss with my kids. They grow so fast and I don't want to forget anything. We painted and made ornaments that the boys loved to do and putting them on the tree totally made their day! We of course kept our 12 days of tradition going!

CHRISTMAS

We had a wonderful Christmas this year! The boys loved watching "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" the animated movie like 5 times a day. We made Cookies on Christmas Eve and they got really into wrapping presents and putting them under the tree. We had no snow until Christmas Eve and had a magical white Christmas and of course we played and went sledding and I got to play with my new camera!! Christmas Eve we had our tradition of driving around and looking at Christmas Lights which of course the boys loved and were telling us what colors they were seeing. We opened up matching PJ's and they got spaceship ones this year and Joey was really excited for his Lighting McQueen Red slippers. We found a house around the block that had a amazing light display that synced up with music on the radio. It was very impressive! After lights, we ate popcorn and daddy read us a Christmas Story. Brayden was really excited to leave cookies and milk for Santa to eat.

So Josh and I totally spoiled the boys this years and had a bunch of Santa toys to put up, our big one the indoor trampoline... yeah it took us over 3 hours to put that stupid thing together but Josh is the man and he totally did it!! I made Santa foot prints from the fireplace to the cookies with powdered sugar.

Joey was the first to wake up at like 7am, Brayden did not want to wake up and was super grumpy even when we took him downstairs to show him that Santa came, took him awhile to get excited and adjust. Joey saw the footprints and kept walking in the footprints. Brayden really loved that Santa ate the cookies and drank the milk, he talked about it all Christmas Day. The boys enjoyed opening their presents and wanted to play with everything and have it open right away. I love spending time with my adorable family and Christmas with kids is just plain awesome.

Later that day my parents came into town and we had Christmas Dinner. I made yummy Ribs, potato salad, baked beans and apple pie! The boys loved opening their presents from Mimi and Papa. The next day we all went to the Aquarium and the boys loved being with Mimi and Papa!! Sadly they had to head back home that day.

NEW YEARS

Yet again we had just our cute little family together for New Years and I got to play with my new camera some more and figure out the tripod and the boys got a kick out of it. We let them stay up till about 10pm then shuffled them off to bed, and us old folks watched a show until midnight, kissed then went to bed.. I know such party animals!!
